Overview:

The Epic Credentialed Trainer uses curriculum and training materials that have been developed by the Principal Trainer and Informatics team to deliver both in-person and remote training of the Epic Electronic Health Record. The CT provides essential support for oncology users of the clinical system
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver effective Beacon (oncology) training courses for a diverse multidisciplinary faculty, clinicians, and support staff.

  • Maintain extensive knowledge of the application and of clinical workflows.

  • Provide support to end users through classroom and individualized training, consultation services, and answering questions.

  • Effectively deliver user support and training virtually, in person, in writing, via e-mail and telephone.

  • Assist the Principal Trainer with creating tip sheets, videos and eLearning to support system use.

  • Support users virtually and in-person through system upgrades.

  • Assist with managing the overall training schedule and onboarding new CTs.

Qualifications:

Qualifications required for this job:

  • Experience training, virtual and/or in person

  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles

  • Ability to evaluate user proficiency via direct observation

  • Ability to develop, maintain, and report on timelines for projects

  • Ability to work exceptionally well independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to communicate expectations clearly and succinctly, both in email and verbally.

  • Good follow-up skills and the ability to use initiative and sound judgment in carrying out responsibilities

Qualifications preferred for this job:

  • Experience with Epic

  • Experience with e-learning development

  • Lean processes or CPI knowledge and exposure

  • Strong understanding of software usability criteria and design

  • Experience training clinical end-users of various levels of technical savvy

  • Strong understanding of computer terminology and database design basics

  • Experience using learning management systems including course scheduling, tracking, and program management software

  • Demonstrated experience working with teams in the development and support of applications, and in implementing production systems in a healthcare organization
