Summary

Collects, identifies, labels, handles and processes venous and capillary blood specimens from patients for health care providers. Performs a variety of duties involved in the registering and ordering of clinical specimens. Completes clerical duties associated with laboratory specimen collection and processing. Reports to the Laboratory Patient Service Center Supervisor(s) and is accountable to all Laboratory Management Team members

Hours

Monday - Friday: open to close (7:30am-4pm) in a busy/growing Oncology office. During days with significant afternoon volume, staff may need to stay beyond normal closing time in order to provide the best care to our patients

Education

High school or equivalent (GED)

Certification, Registration & Licensure

None required

Experience

Prior phlebotomy experience required

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids. The employee is frequently exposed to airborne pathogens. The employee is occasionally exposed to electrical hazards - shock and moving mechanical parts
