About CESA #1:
Cooperative Educational Service Agency (CESA) #1 is all about students. CESAs were started over 50 years ago to partner with local school districts to provide high-quality educational and therapy services for students. Wisconsin is divided into 12 CESAs, with CESA #1 comprising six counties in southeastern Wisconsin. CESA #1 is home to 30,000 educators and more than 300,000 students
We are a critical partner to schools, providing reliable, just-in-time support. We offer over 100 kinds of services, including consultation, workshops, and staffing for districts. We are proud of our strong history supporting schools and students
Responsibilities:
The Reading Specialist provides consultation, coaching, and professional development to leaders and staff within the school. It may also include intensive instruction for struggling readers, either within or outside a student’s classroom. The specialist also consults with teachers and parents, trains others in the use of informal assessment as part of an individual student intervention plan, and assists staff in interpreting data
Qualifications:
~ Valid DPI Reading Specialist licensure
~ Expertise in implementing and/or coaching others in literacy instruction
~ Ability to work with and coach school leadership and teachers
~ Experience developing and facilitating professional development
~ Proven experience managing and modifying student behavior
~ Disposition for teamwork and collaborative thinking
