This position will be part of Samsung Electronics America’s corporate Mobile People team, and tasked to provide HR Business Partner support to the Retail HR team, as well as directly support assigned client teams within the Retail Support Center groups under the supervision of the Sr HR Leader

Role and Responsibilities

Our qualified candidate will be responsible for providing HR guidance and support to assigned client groups within the Retail Support Center. Duties will include facilitating and managing activities across all HR functions, including benefits, employee relations, performance management, staffing, and compensation per Samsung Electronics America (SEA) policies

  • Work related to managing and maintaining employee relations within supported client teams to monitor employee engagement. Facilitates activities related to coaching, counseling and support of assigned client teams
  • Facilitating annual cycle activities and project initiatives in partnership with HR COEs such as comp, L&D, talent management and other programs as needed
  • Supports HR decisioning by leveraging data in order to make fact based decisions that enable the business to achieve its objectives
  • Maintains data integrity and provides reporting from multiple sources including HRIS and individuals related to headcount, labor costs and other related data
  • Other projects and ad hoc reporting as requested

Makes decisions within guidelines and policies; escalates issues and concerns appropriately and in a timely manner. Manages design and planning of significant change management and/or reorganization. Conducts intake sessions around employee relations issues; partners with the Employee Relations team on investigative matters. Provide feedback to COEs about program and policy effectiveness; partners with COEs on standard annual and ad hoc initiatives. Manages Annual Cycle and Performance Management initiatives for assigned region. Manages headcount planning including activities tied to Sr. Leadership read-outs, reporting and analysis, and on- going efforts of workforce strategy planning

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with 4-6+ years of combined experience, preferably in one or more areas of HR discipline. PHR/ SPHR preferred but not required
  • Advanced degree in business, HR or similar field with at least 3 years of experience preferred
  • Prior experience including labor relations, HR administration and/or other business support required
  • Prior retail, mobile and/or consumer electronics industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of government regulations, professional best practices, and industry trends as they apply to all HR related functions and responsibilities required
  • Proven experience navigating organizations
  • Able to partner with leaders and build relationships
  • Advanced Excel Skills and intermediate skills with Microsoft business applications software, compensation software packages, PeopleSoft, or other HRIS systems
  • Data driven to run reports and provide analytics
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and analysis skills for researching, analyzing, developing, and leading in the implementation of Human Resources related programs and recommendations
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills in dealing proactively with all levels of internal and external management, vendor, or agency personnel
  • This includes a high degree of sensitivity and change management abilities to intercultural personnel and corporate dynamics
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with personnel at all levels within the SEA organization, industry councils, community groups, outside legal counsel, government agencies, and training vendors
  • The ability to convince others, in a potentially adversarial environment, including stakeholder leadership, VPs, directors & managers, staff, and vendors with opposing views to accept/approve plans, regulatory needs, or project recommendations
  • The ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple and simultaneous Human Resources related projects and programs in a changing corporate environment
  • The ability to write, read, interpret, and act on proper understanding of technical documents, contracts, or related documents based on corporate legal and customer applications, and Human Resources professional standards and philosophy
  • Ability to make professional presentations and to communicate in writing, through e-mails and reports, or orally, complex technical matters to an audience of high technical skills and operational experience
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and direct the activities of other employees in order to achieve objectives, project schedules, and team goals and to complete assignments within established time frames and specifications
  • The ability to develop tasks and work assignments, clearly define objectives, and give technical direction with applied knowledge of alternatives and decision-making experience to guide subordinates
  • Ability to interact with all levels in the organization
