What does a great Accountant do?

The Accountant for our FRMS (Financial & Risk Management Solutions business unit will be based in Alpharetta, Georgia. The Accountant is responsible for the month-end close process and balance sheet reconciliations associated with our Financial & Risk Management Solutions (FRMS) Business Unit. We are seeking a self-motivated, collaborative, intellectually curious accounting professional with a strong work ethic to join our FRMS Accounting team. An ambitious team member needs the ability to adopt to change, assist with improving processes and be motivated towards a common goal. To be successful in this role, the candidate needs to be able to grasp the business operations, be able to work with a diverse staff, and excel in a fast-paced evolving environment.

As an Accountant, you will:

  • Perform month end activities that include preparing and posting journal entries with related supporting schedules.

  • Review and analysis of new customer contracts for the purpose of capturing key contract data on the Contract Logs for various businesses.

  • Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Research aged & open items in reconciliations and highlight the potential risk and opportunities

  • Support reporting requirements by preparing monthly trend and variance analysis reporting.

  • Liaise with the auditors and work on the audit requirements & audit queries.

  • Coordinate with other departments on accounting matters through calls/over email.

Basic Qualifications for Consideration

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent business degree.

  • Good understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Must be skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data.

  • Must be skilled in use of Excel Spreadsheets.

  • Must have excellent English language skills (verbal and written communication)

  • Must have good work ethics, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Working knowledge in ERP (SAP preferable)

  • Expertise with Microsoft Office suite of business software including Excel, Outlook and Word.
