Kind of Work Routine correctional work supervising residents detained at the Arrowhead Juvenile Center (AJC), which is a facility licensed by the Department of Corrections. Please Note: As part of the application process, applicants will select the schedule they would be willing to accept. This information will be used to filter the eligible list and ensure applicants are being referred for interview according to their preference. What is a continuous list? A list with no closing date, which means we are always accepting applications. When an applicant applies and passes the qualifying assessments listed below, they are placed on an eligible list. When vacancies arise, AJC requests names for interview. We filter the list according to schedule preference for the current vacancy and refer names for interview to AJC. Arrowhead Regional Corrections does not participate in E-Verify. All employees must be continuously authorized to work in the United States, for Arrowhead Regional Corrections, on a full-time basis. Arrowhead Regional Corrections does not provide sponsorship for employment visas. Distinguishing Features of Work An employee in this class provides correctional services for minors detained at AJC. Employees in this class are responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the facility, juveniles and staff and counseling residents by modeling and teaching social skills, problem solving skills, and conflict resolution. Duties include providing direct care and supervising residents in a 24-hour 7 day a week (including holidays) facility; performing security checks and managing crises and conflicts as they occur; documentation of daily activities; medication delivery; providing transportation; and assisting residents develop life skills. The work is performed under the direction of assigned supervisory staff.
