Position Summary
This position cover two key function for Wente Family Vineyards.
The Demand Planning function plays a pivotal role in translating data into actionable insights that drive business impact and support strategic goals. This dynamic position bridges data analytics, demand planning, and system expertise to empower Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain teams with valuable insights. By leveraging innovative tools and processes, this role will uncover opportunities, optimize operations, and enhance decision-making across the organization providing comprehensive strategic support to achieve business objectives.
The Strategic Procurement function has overall responsibility for overseeing the purchasing of all packaging materials for the winegrowing operation at Wente Vineyards. This position has the ability to oversee purchases companywide, which may include purchases for other facilities such as the tasting room(s), restaurant(s), catering facilities, golf course, etc. This position will interact with all levels of management.

Demand Planning
The environment within the office is clean, well-lit and free from extremes of temperature and humidity. At times, the individual will be required to go out-of-doors and into various parts of the winery subjecting the incumbent to variations in temperature and humidity.

Demand Planning
- Lead demand planning efforts to forecast and manage product requirements accurately.
- Conduct monthly demand forecast meetings with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain.
- Analyze business trends and statistical data to refine forecasts and improve accuracy.
- Address demand-related queries and issues promptly to minimize risks and disruptions.
- Collaborate with system consultants to implement and optimize demand planning tools.
- Serve as the business owner for demand planning systems, ensuring successful adoption and utilization.
- Partner in S&OP process supporting Supply and NPD functions with Demand data sets.
- Drive system conversions, upgrades, and enhancements to maintain data reliability.
- Develop and deploy data-driven solutions to solve complex business challenges.
- Analyze trends and patterns in large datasets to provide actionable recommendations.
- Train and empower business partners to leverage Demand tools for decision-making.
- Partner with IT and external consultants to optimize system integrations and migrations.
- Procurement & supply management of bottling, winemaking, and other supplies.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers.
- Supplier Management (qualification, performance, capabilities, etc.).
- Ensure supplier agreements are met regarding delivery, price, and quality.
- In consultation with executive leadership, create and publish performance metrics that sustain and the business while improving quality, service and cost.
- Support of annual Certified Sustainable Winegrowing Association (CSWA) certification.
- Issues monthly forecast and rolling 12 forecasts as applicable to strategic suppliers.
- Lead Contract Management process
- Reviews all incoming Supplier contracts for accuracy and compliance, and routes according to the company’s Signature Authority Matrix as needed.
- Works with legal counsel as needed regarding legal questions and contract templates.
- Maintain and update the Winegrowing Contract Templates with Document Control.
- Lead Buying team supporting Winery operations.
- Manage purchase order processes, including blanket & long-term purchase agreements.
- Ability to work closely with the Supply Chain planning team on efficiently and effectively matching supply needs with demand.
- Management of all situations where inventory levels don’t properly match the expected demand and generate appropriate actions
- Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Operating Work Instructions (OWI)
- Lead & document cost reduction and/or quality enhancement activities.
- Support economic sustainability by staying within budget.
- Work with IT and finance resources to develop new tools to efficiently and more effectively review demand and supply matching, including but not limited to the Purchasing Requisition System and Power BI.
- SharePoint Administrator for Procurement and Contract sites.
- Oversee document libraries on SharePoint, including Labels, Purchase Orders, KDs, Glass Molds, Contracts, and Proof Approvals.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, market research, or related field; strong statistical background preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in demand planning, business intelligence, or data analytics, preferably within CPG or wine/alcoholic beverages industries.
- Expertise in data tools, including Power BI, Excel, SQL, Hyperion, and Smartview; experience with IRI and TDLinx is a plus.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders across all levels.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, maintain high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with demand planning best practices and system implementations.
- Hands-on experience with project management, tool migrations, and process optimization.
- Commitment to fostering sustainability through efficient practices and resource management.
- Lift standard shipping case (up to 50 pounds).
- Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time
