Job Summary

Someone who is an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse for an Infusion Center. The LVN should perform a supportive role in the delivery of comprehensive care to the patient that is safe, effective, and efficient.

Responsibilities

  • Proficiently and independently assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents the daily care of assigned patients.
  • Monitor fluid tubes, check infusions, and make sure that medications implemented are not counteracting each other or causing a patient harm.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain peripheral IV lines.
  • Administer medication for Infectious diseases, Rheumatology, Oncology, and IVIG. This includes mixing medications and inserting IVs while maintaining a safe environment.
  • Safely administer blood and blood products.
  • Perform infusions and monitoring of patient's status throughout the entire infusion as well as managed emergency reactions.
  • Effectively communicates with medical, clinical, and clerical staff to ensure the efficient operations of the clinic and resolved patient inquiries.
  • Assures proper maintenance of clinical records in compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional vocation or associate degree in nursing with current Texas licensure.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of clinical experience with one (1) year experience in a home health agency, preferred.
  • Understands regulatory compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Adhere to HIPAA and maintain client confidentiality
