Part-Time Environmental Scientist I
Job Description
The Environmental Scientist I is responsible for a variety of Task Management and Scientific work on all phases of projects, particularly regarding environmental and regulatory compliance and permitting. This position prepares applicable permit applications and technical documents including proposals, reports, and regulatory agency correspondence. Projects may include Phase I environmental site assessments, ecological and natural resource field surveys, storm water management, and site planning and permitting.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Education: Bachelors degree in Environmental Science or a related field
Experience: 1-3 years related experience
Additional Requirements: In lieu of a degree candidate may have a minimum of 5-7 years related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience:
Wetland delineation and permitting experience
Ability to travel and conduct field work as dictated by project demands
Environmental consulting experience
Experience working with USACE Regulatory Branch

Projects may include Phase I environmental site assessments, ecological and natural resource field surveys, storm water management, and site planning and permitting.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintains and follows appropriate safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects
- Participates in pre-task planning and reports any safety issues or concerns to management
- Responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects
- Implements site testing and makes recommendations for systems design
- Assists more senior scientists/engineers on large, more complex projects
- Performs site visits, field observations and field data collection or assignments
- Implements technical requirements to complete client projects by directing and supervising field staff to sample, test and collect data and/or document site activities
- Responsible for developing written proposals to clients for approval by senior level professionals
- Evaluates moderately complex field data and assembles in written reports
- Serves as active team member and participates in meetings and communications with client pertaining to specific projects/tasks
- Utilizes ArcGIS in day-to-day activities to assist with environmental due diligence and any other mapping efforts required
- Other duties as assigned

- Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously
- Knowledge and experience with Federal and State regulatory agencies and the mechanism of their regulatory oversight of State's biological resources.
