Initiates action when necessary to ensure the project is being built as specified in the scope of work. Provide construction engineering and technical support for a specific discipline on large stand-alone projects. Provide construction engineering and technical support for two or more construction engineering disciplines on small to medium projects.

Job Description
Support the construction efforts by providing technical support to craft and supervision as well as helping to satisfy Quality requirements on the project. Initiates action when necessary to ensure the project is being built as specified in the scope of work. Provide construction engineering and technical support for a specific discipline on large stand-alone projects. Provide construction engineering and technical support for two or more construction engineering disciplines on small to medium projects.
- Assist craftsmen, foremen, and project supervision with regard to construction-related issues identified on drawings
- Provide technical interpretation of design documents in support of construction managers, superintendents, and contractors and provides specific expertise for problem solving activities
- Establish and maintain effective communication between the company and the design engineer to ensure the timely flow of design documents and information
- Coordinate the preparation and implementation of the project quality program when the quality function is the responsibility of the construction engineering department; report the status of functions performed by the construction engineering department to project management
- Familiarity with nuclear quality (e.g. NQA-1) and commercial quality practice standards is preferred.
- A working knowledge of national consensus codes and standards related to the respective candidate’s discipline is required. This would include NEC, IEEE, NFPA70E and NECA.
- Perform Constructability Reviews on the project
- Utilize project automation tools
- Design temporary construction power systems as required
- Implement project Construction Quality Control requirements including inspection and testing of in-process and completed installations
- Provides technical assistance to the Electrical Superintendent and keeps them informed on matters relating to electrical work.
- Communicates with Design Engineering to understand design requirements and resolve field problems.
- Performs quantity take-offs from design drawings as required and provides input into the project quantity tracking system.
- Prepare field design changes for the project
- Reviews the project schedules. Working with the Electrical Superintendents, develops
- Inspects electrical work in progress and prepares appropriate inspection records.
- Witnesses tests and completes final test acceptance records before system turnover.
- Assists the Electrical Superintendent in resolving construction issues.
- Verifies/reports installed electrical quantities weekly.
- Prepares material requisitions for testing equipment, field-procured materials, and temporary
- Monitors the status of material deliveries by maintaining open dialogue with suppliers and fabricators.
- Assists Electrical Superintendent on electrical related problems to obtain vendor information, substitutions, and other design-related issues.
- Coordinates as-built information for electrical installations as required by the contract, specifications, or project procedures.
- Determines the scope of any installations not shown on the design drawings, such as temporary
- Monitors and expedites off-site material fabrication to coordinate the proper flow of material to the site.
- Develops punchlists and work lists of to-go work for use in completing the electrical
- Perform system/area turnovers including preparation of applicable as built documents and inspection records required by the contract
- Performs routine inspections of ongoing work activities on a continuous basis and oversees a final check out of rotating and electrical equipment, control wiring circuits, and instrument loop checks prior to turnover to the startup group or the client.
- Troubleshoots, resolves, and responds to identified electrical and instrumentation circuitry problems
- Establishes jobsite procedures for documentation of client and vendor witnessing of electrical circuit and equipment testing.
- Issues scoping requirements of raceway, cable, terminations, jumpers, equipment (from system scoping P&IDs) to Supervision System and Facility to support system and facility turnovers
- Maintains an open dialogue with site and factory vendor representatives to assess requirements and to have proper vendor representatives at the site to support installation, testing, or troubleshooting.

Basic Job Requirements
- Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and sixteen (16) years of work-related experience; a recognized certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
- Must be willing to work days or nights
- Must be able to provide proof of US citizenship.
- Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a "Q" clearance if it becomes necessary
- Technical Associate's degree and at least 18 years of related experience.
- A high school diploma along with the qualifications of a journeyman electrician and at least 20 years of related experience.
- Related experience includes positions held as an Electrical field engineer on heavy industrial or power or nuclear construction projects; preference given to candidates with Major EPC Project experience.
- Construction Management degree or global equivalent
- Typically has fifteen (15) years of field project experience
- Ability to manage related functions and activities on mega-projects, if required
- Construction Management degree or global equivalent
- Extensive site construction experience required
- Requires an individual who excels in a particular area such as electrical, and/or instrumentation work
- Oral and written communication skills
- Ability to speak/read multiple languages
- Advanced computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as advanced use of spreadsheets and electronic presentations
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar computer aided design software
