Duties & Responsibilities

This role will execute on pursuing new private equity investments and managing the existing portfolio of investments in support of the UMB Private Investments team. This role will have 25-50% client interaction. Duties will include

  • Lead and support tasks throughout every aspect of a transaction process, including initial underwriting, due diligence, management meetings and company visits, and deal closing checklists.
  • Review new investment opportunities and conduct due diligence including analyzing financial results, business operations, industry trends and competitive factors.
  • Formulate an investment thesis on new opportunities and support drafting investment memos.
  • Monitor investments in businesses by working with company management teams and attending quarterly board meetings.
  • Build and manage financial projection forecasts and leverage buyout models.
  • Perform valuation methodologies including comparative company analysis and discounted cash flow analysis on target new companies and the existing portfolio companies.
  • Lead and support the creation of presentations.
  • Support business development activity.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or combination of education and experience that provides and equivalent background

Preferred

  • Experience in Investing, M&A, or Cash flow lending
  • Experience in modeling of investments
  • Knowledge of financial valuation techniques

Knowledge & Skills

MINIMUM

  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Demonstrates proficient knowledge of Microsoft products Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrates ability to evaluate situations and recommend solutions
  • Demonstrates ability to work with balance sheet and/or income statement information

Compensation Range

$51,480.00 - $99,330.00

The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB’s standard for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
