Qualifications

The Program Retention Assistant role is a professional position requiring high standards of behavior, excellent work habits, and adherence to policies.

Education And Experience Equivalency

Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in administrative support, data entry, customer service, or a related field.

Relevant Experience Examples

  • Customer Service or Participant Support: Worked in call centers, front desks, retail, or workforce program support; conducted outreach; assisted with forms.
  • Data Entry and Information Management: Used Excel, Access, or other systems for accurate data entry; maintained client records and logs.
  • Administrative and Clerical Support: Prepared reports, correspondence, and forms; managed physical and digital files.
  • Report Creation and Analysis: Created spreadsheets or visual summaries for tracking participant progress.
  • Technology Proficiency: Used Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Meet), MS Office (Word, Excel, Access); operated office equipment (copiers, scanners).

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Professional and courteous demeanor in all interactions
  • Competence with Microsoft Office and Google tools

Other Requirements

  • Ability to pass background checks, including Act 151 Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania Criminal History Check, and FBI Fingerprints.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and dependable transportation for work duties.
  • Access to a working telephone for prompt communication.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to attend networking events, career fairs, and outreach activities as needed.
