Job Function

The Project Financial Analyst executes customer billings & collections, expense report processing, vendor payable functions, and certain report preparation for projects pertaining to a specified group of customer accounts. The position is responsible for working with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and with internal employees and adhering to A/P and A/R policies and procedures. This position is also responsible for and will oversee forecasting of revenue along with the FP&A team.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

  • Completing setup of Projects in Financial Force by reviewing information transferred from Salesforce and attaching POs and SOWs that support the company’s contractual right to bill
  • Billing for all billable resources performing services for a specified group of customer accounts
  • Collecting accounts by tracking invoices in customer portals, contacting customers’ A/P resources; investigating circumstances of non-payment; negotiating and escalating issues; expediting payments
  • Coordinates with Operations and Sales team members to resolve invoicing errors and/or adjustments to collect overdue customer invoices
  • Calculates forecasted revenue by project for the upcoming month in collaboration with the FP&A Team and Client Partners
  • Analyzes previous monthly, quarterly revenue trends of each project in collaboration with the Operations and Client Partners and ensuring data is captured in the forecast
  • Reviewing and processing expense reports charged to assigned projects
  • Reviewing and processing vendor invoices charged to assigned
  • Preparing revenue and project profitability reporting for a specified group of customer accounts
  • Maintaining financial security by adhering to internal accounting controls
  • Maintaining accounting ledgers by posting monthly account transactions
  • Support the operations team with enhancements to the Salesforce system
  • Implement automation capabilities in the Salesforce system
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge/Experience

This position requires the following skills/job knowledge:

  • B.S. Degree in Business (Accounting or Finance preferred)
  • 4-5 years of project finance experience managing projects with accounting and forecasting experience or relevant experience
  • Experience using ERP Systems and understanding of data
  • Experience in project analysis and forecasting preferred
  • Experience using Excel to develop complex models

Required Skills

Successful candidates for this position will meet the following criteria:

  • Exceptional proficiency with MS Office products, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint
    • Word (work with large documents containing tables, TOC, styles, track changes)
    • Excel (create, modify charts, filter data, use of functions within multiple worksheets)
  • Detailed -oriented
  • Proven organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy and within timeline assigned

Work Environment And Physical Demands

  • FLSA executive and professional positions paid on salary basis, where project requirements and tight client deadlines may require workweeks in excess of 40 hours (including weekends or holidays)
  • Ability to travel as required in support of client projects
  • Significant desk work on a computer
  • Lifting requirements on occasion– 35 lbs. per OSHA requirements
