JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Control Technician plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our company’s quality management systems. This position supports quality initiatives by developing and refining checklists, updating the QA manual, assisting with data management, and collaborating with administrative teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and skilled in root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement across departments.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Checklist Development: Create, update, and standardize inspection and quality checklists based on process needs and product specifications.
  • QA Manual Maintenance: Revise and maintain the Quality Assurance manual to reflect current procedures, industry standards, and continuous improvement updates.
  • Data Support: Collect, organize, and analyze quality-related data to track trends, identify deviations, and support decision-making.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Investigate non-conformance issues by identifying underlying causes and proposing corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Administrative Collaboration: Provide quality-related support to administrative personnel, including documentation, audit prep, and compliance tracking.
  • Communicate effectively with QC management and cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues
  • Support general quality audits and inspections as directed by the QC Manager
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and contribute to continuous improvement efforts


QUALIFICATIONS:

Work Experience: Skills & Qualifications: Education:

  • Knowledge of ISO standards or other QA frameworks
  • 2 to 4 years’ experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • 2 to 4 years’ experience in quality control preferred
  • Familiarity with digital tools like Power BI, SharePoint, or PowerApps
  • Experience with quality systems and documentation control
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Familiarity with root cause tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for data management)
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and communicate clearly
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail


High school diploma or GED required

  • Associate’s degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Quality, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology) preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights. When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used as necessary.
