Job Summary

The Regional Account Manager position focuses on sales of dairy and beef minerals, value added products, silage inoculant, and calf feeds to dairies and feed yards. The position requires on the farm sales calls and development of strong relationships with producers. The position reports to the Director of SWCO Feed Business and is responsible for a sales territory in Texas, the Oklahoma Panhandle, and Western Kansas.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety policies as established by JDH.
  • Local travel required.
  • Development of strong customer relationships.
  • Farm sales calls, including follow-up, will be the primary position activity.
  • Sell value added products such as calf feeds and silage inoculant.
  • Sell custom dairy minerals.
  • Set goals for growth based on animal numbers and market share potential.
  • Understand cattle markets for discussion with producers.
  • Drive a culture of safety, accountability, opportunistic curiosity and contribute to creating an environment where people want to work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, or a related field preferred.
  • Honesty, Integrity, Trustworthy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships.
  • Two years of experience in sales in the animal nutrition industry preferred; experience and past success will be heavily weighted.
  • Positive, self-motivated individual with strong communication, planning, and organizational skills; business acumen expected.
  • Mathematical skills and reasoning ability for a commonsense approach.
  • Strong computer skills necessary to utilize spreadsheets and JDH Software.
  • Strong customer service commitment.
  • Ability to manage credit and credit limits.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent sitting, use of computer, and communication via telephone, email, and text.
  • Ability to navigate an office environment.
  • Local area travel required.
