Be a part of leading the team of Sea Logistics Sales Representatives through bringing in new customers, offering subject matter expertise, and growing our business mainly in FCL and LCL, whilst selling all Kuehne+Nagel services.
Your Role
As a Development Manager for Sea Logistics, you will be responsible for driving the growth and development of new and existing business within your designated area. Your primary focus will be to identify new opportunities, nurture client relationships, and collaborate with internal teams to achieve revenue targets. You will play a crucial role in aligning business strategies with our Roadmap 2026 and Vision 2030 objectives, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Your Responsibilities
- Identify key market opportunities and adjust strategies to target potential customers, aligned with Kuehne+Nagel’s Roadmap 2026 and Vision 2030.
- Lead, coach, and motivate the Sea Logistics Sales Representatives to achieve or exceed sales goals.
- Create a strong pipeline of prospects and opportunities for your team to drive business growth and meet personal and organizational goals.
- Enable your team to act as consultants for customers, providing insights on sea freight market developments and offering end-to-end solutions leveraging KN’s services and digital platform.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of strong customer relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
- Support pricing decisions of your team in alignment with the Managers of Customer Care Locations
- Foster collaboration between the sales team and Customer Care Organization to ensure seamless service delivery, creating an extraordinary customer experience.
- Monitor and report on the team’s sales performance, including key metrics like revenue growth, pipeline strength, and customer acquisition.
- Coach your team on best practices for researching market potentials, identifying new prospects, and utilizing communication channels effectively.
- Provide oversight to ensure that customer information, quotations, and business activities meet the quality and compliance standards of Kuehne+Nagel.
- 5+ years of sales and new business development experience.
- 5+ years of sales management experience (direct and virtual) with direct and dotted line reporting responsibilities.
- 5+ years of freight forwarding industry experience in particular with Sea Logistics.
- Demonstrated skills in planning, critical thinking, information gathering/analysis, prioritization, time management, and complaint resolution.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to actively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
