Job Description
Studio F is seeking highly motivated and reliable individuals to join our special events On-Call Fabrication team. This hands-on role is ideal for candidates with a background in event build-outs, scenic fabrication, custom installations, and live event production. You will play an essential part in the execution process, helping to construct custom scenic elements, staging, décor, and event builds.

Studio F is seeking highly motivated and reliable individuals to join our special events On-Call Fabrication team. This hands-on role is ideal for candidates with a background in event build-outs, scenic fabrication, custom installations, and live event production. You will play an essential part in the execution process, helping to construct custom scenic elements, staging, décor, and event builds.
Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Studio F Designs, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist in the fabrication of scenic and structural elements for high-end events, activations, and branded environments.
- Follow construction plans, renderings, and lead direction to accurately execute custom event designs.
- Operate and assist with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment (training provided as needed).
- Work in shop and warehouse settings, prepping, organizing, loading, and unloading materials and finished pieces for event deployment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace on the shop floor and during installations.
- Collaborate with production leads, project managers, and fellow crew members to meet aggressive deadlines while maintaining craftsmanship and quality.
- Represent Studio F with professionalism and positivity when working on-site at client venues.
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in scenic fabrication, live event production, or special event build-outs.
- Comfort and confidence working with materials like wood, foam, metal, fabric, plastics, or custom scenic elements.
- Familiarity with basic construction techniques and fabrication processes.
- Experience in a build-shop or scenic warehouse environment is essential.
- Ability to follow build specs, cut lists, and fabrication drawings accurately.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to take direction and offer input.
- Must be physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and performing physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
- Flexible with schedule; willing to work nights, weekends, and long shifts based on project timelines and event schedules.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for craftsmanship.
- Knowledge of the Phoenix-area event and fabrication vendor landscape is a plus.
- Forklift certification, rigging knowledge, or carpentry experience is an asset.
- OSHA or safety training certifications are a bonus.
