Description

  • This is a hybrid role that requires at least 3 days of onsite work per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays) at our Bible Way location in Reno, NV.

General Summary (What Is Done And Why)

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for full life cycle recruitment throughout the organization. This will be achieved through the development of local and national recruiting plans, employing innovative sourcing strategies and resources, as well as by developing competitive intelligence by market, functional area and skill needs. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring United FCU is hiring the best possible talent.

Essential Functions, in Priority Order (Majority of duties, but not meant to be all inclusive or prevent other duties from being assigned as necessary)

  • Leads talent acquisition and interviewing strategy to develop pool of qualified candidates and effectively screens candidates to contribute to professional and successful experience and process. Time: 45%
  • Includes managing applications, skills assessments, background checks and other prerequisites for employment
  • Tracks status in applicant tracking system and company software
  • Maintains regular contact with candidates and hiring managers
  • Coordinates, utilizes and creatively uses tools for sourcing by means of career fairs, networking events, internet, social media, colleges, and other venues to attract top talent; build network of qualified candidates and manage relationships in a manner that competitively advantages United FCU as an employer of choice. Actively seeks qualified passive candidates. Time: 25%
  • Partners with hiring managers to manage recruiting and interviewing process, and maintains regular follow-up to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation. Time: 15%
  • Collaborates with HR Services Team to identify, develop and implement integrated strategies of improving HR services to the organization and candidates, including special projects and initiatives. Time: 15%

Qualifications

Education (Minimum education required to perform the duties of this position)

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or 2 years related work experience required.

Experience (Minimum experience required to perform the duties of this position)

In Addition To The Education Requirement

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources with 1 year recruiting required .
  • Experience in recruiting for a financial institution, retail or professional services preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Minimum technical and communication skill levels and licenses/certificates normally required to perform the duties of this position)

  • Proven candidate sourcing and relationship building skills.
  • Knowledge of employment law and Affirmative Action.
  • Knowledge of conducting study and research through the internet and social media sites.

  • As needed, personal/written/phone contact with industry colleagues.

Physical Demands (Physical effort generally associated with this position)

Work involves standing and walking for brief periods of time, but most work is done from a seated position. There is potential for eyestrain from prolonged work at the computer and reading detailed reports. Deadlines, workloads and pressure to achieve goals may cause increased stress levels.

Working Conditions (Typical working conditions associated with this type of work and environmental hazards, if any, that may be encountered in performing the duties of this position)

Internal - Work is normally performed in climate controlled office environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc). No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of duties. Length of day is unpredictable; long hours may be required to accommodate deadlines or special meetings.
