Technology Assistant General Description

The Technology Assistant serves as a member of the Information Technology department and will provide support and assistance to staff for SHEF technology and communication related issues.

Technology Assistant Essential Duties

• Analyzing technical issues to identify root causes and implement solutions.
• Provide first tier support for IT requests through the ticketing system in a timely manner, escalating to the appropriate IT contact as necessary.
• Communicating effectively with end-users to provide guidance and instructions on problem resolution.
• Provide support to and collaborate with end-users to provide guidance and instructions on problem resolution.
• Assist with managing employee software access levels for Athena, Dentrix, Windows, and other programs as necessary.
• Maintain and support user account information.
• Maintain and assist with active directory user management.
• Assist with maintaining the IT asset management system.
• Assist with IT inventory on a quarterly and yearly basis.
• Maintain basic knowledge of a telephone system.
• Maintain a basic knowledge of SFHC IT systems and services.
• Contact vendors and service providers of technology solutions as assigned.
  
  

Technology Assistant Skills Required

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients, and the public.
• Ability to critically think and troubleshoot common IT problems.
• Enthusiasm for working as a member of a team in a rapidly changing environment.
• Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules and regulations.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences in a clear, concise, complete, and accurate manner.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and prioritize workload.
• Effective and efficient time management.
• Ability to follow written policies and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and use good judgment.
• Knowledge of standard office machines including copier, fax, multi-line phones, printers, scanners, etc.
  
  

Evening Custodian Education and Experience

• Valid Kansas Driver’s license;
• Associates Degree or BS in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science; Computer Technology, or related-field, OR
• A minimum of two (2) years prior experience, preferably in a health-related field;
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking systems.
• Knowledge and experience with Windows operating systems, and MS Office Suite software; smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices.
• Social and cultural sensitivity appropriate to serve an ethnically and economically diverse patient and employee-base.
