About The Role
Waste Connections of Washington is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Waste Reduction Manager to lead partnerships with city and county municipalities. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a passion for sustainability, community engagement, and public service. You’ll work closely with local government officials to develop policies, manage public services, and drive initiatives that support waste reduction and environmental education.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with city and county officials to align municipal goals and services.
- Plan and execute community projects, events, and outreach campaigns.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance public communication and citizen engagement.
- Serve as a liaison between municipal agencies and the community to foster collaboration and trust.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve performance goals.
- Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with organizational objectives.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of staff.
- Ensure effective communication across departments and teams.
- Manage budgets and allocate resources efficiently.
- Identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
- Monitor project progress and team productivity to ensure timely delivery.
- Address team conflicts and promote a positive, inclusive work environment.
- Make informed decisions that support operational excellence and strategic growth.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Education, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental education, community outreach, or program management.
- Strong knowledge of recycling practices, waste management policies, and sustainability issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Proven experience developing educational materials and delivering presentations.
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
