Youth Program Director, Alpha - $100,000/year USD - #305256

Crossover

Date: 1 day ago
City: Brownsville, TX
Salary: $50 per hour
Contract type: Full time
  • Campus-based position at the Alpha School in Brownsville, TX
  • $100,000 annual W2 salary, distributed weekly. Health benefits begin on day one.
  • Relocation assistance available for candidates committing to a full school year on campus

You've built your career coaching young people — not simply instructing them. You understand the distinction: coaching means building connection, issuing challenges, and refusing to accept anything less than a student's full potential. Instruction is content transmission. You've never functioned as a content transmission device.

Alpha operates a school unlike any you've encountered. Students don't occupy rows while being lectured at. They progress through AI-driven learning applications at individualized speeds. The AI manages instructional delivery. Your responsibility is facilitating life skills workshops that command the attention of K-8 students, leading motivation sessions that drive weekly learning target achievement, and maintaining standards when students attempt to disengage. Academic progress manages itself. You manage the human dimension.

This position offers meaningful upward trajectory, and that trajectory means amplified student impact. Educators who reliably achieve their metrics (100% cohort attainment of weekly app goals, satisfaction scores above 90%) advance into Lead Guide positions where they train other educators to execute this work at higher levels. Students remain the central focus.

The campus sits in Brownsville, adjacent to SpaceX's Starbase facility. If your motivation for leaving your current position centers on mission — transforming what a child believes about their own capabilities — rather than resume enhancement, submit your application.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour life skills workshops for K-8 students addressing public speaking, concentration, and feedback exchange
  • Administering Test2Pass mastery assessments following each workshop to verify students have authentically acquired the skill, not merely attended
  • Conducting daily motivation sessions informed by student profiles, interests, and Coachbot analytics to achieve 100% cohort completion of weekly app progression goals
  • Deploying storytelling, incentive structures (school currency, leaderboards), and individual rapport to overcome student resistance
  • Monitoring cohort satisfaction scores with a 90%+ benchmark on student surveys

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Delivering lectures from the front of a classroom. Academic advancement occurs through self-directed AI-powered applications, not through your direct instruction.
  • Supervising passively. The environment involves students working on computers; the role demands active engagement.
  • Compromising standards when students resist. Test2Pass requirements remain constant, regardless of individual student circumstances during any given week.
  • Creating curriculum from the ground up. Workshop playbooks and lesson plans are supplied; your responsibility is executing them with the storytelling ability and presence that ensures genuine student absorption.
  • Handling parent communications, conducting admissions processes, or supervising campus operations. Those functions belong to different roles.

Youth Program Director Key Responsibilities

Guide a cohort of K-8 students toward 100% completion of weekly academic targets while facilitating life skills workshops that achieve 90%+ satisfaction scores.

  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience working with K-8 (elementary and middle school) students
  • Strong storytelling and facilitation presence — capable of maintaining child engagement throughout an hour-long session
  • Willingness to work on-site at the Alpha campus located in Brownsville, TX
  • Authorization to work legally in the US without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Experience as an athletic coach, camp counselor, or youth program facilitator
  • Demonstrated history of high performance in competitive settings (academic, athletic, or professional)
  • Familiarity with self-directed or app-based learning environments
