THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:

The IT Engineer - Network you’ll play a key role in delivering a high-performing, secure, and reliable network across our corporate offices, data centers, distribution centers, and retail locations. You will be responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing Ulta’s network and security infrastructure. In collaboration with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, you’ll help shape and implement scalable network solutions aligned to business needs and future growth.

YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH ALL OF THIS BY:

  • Availability Management: Champion an availability-first mindset with a focus on minimizing downtime keeping operations online and uninterrupted. Operate with a strong awareness of SLAs ensuring that that issues are addressed within desired service levels.
  • Incident Management: Participate in the identification, categorization, and escalation of network incidents. Gather and analyze relevant data to resolve issues efficiently, maintain clear documentation, and keep stakeholders informed of actions taken.
  • Project Execution - Contribute to network projects with accountability for outcomes. Ensure you take ownership to help drive timeline and delivery commitments. (I.e.. - Execution checklists, ITSM tickets, PO’s etc, are detailed and complete.
  • Service Improvement - Proactively review existing processes and network operations to identify opportunities for optimization. Focus on driving efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing the overall stability and supportability of the network environment.
  • Innovation: Manages, monitors, and seeks opportunities, new methods, trends, capabilities and products to the advancement of the organization. Clearly articulates, and formally reports potential benefits from both structural and incremental change. Promotes and motivates colleagues to share creative ideas and learn from failures.
  • Operational Support & Field Execution - Support senior engineers with the implementation of network changes, including on-site work such as racking, stacking, cabling, and verifying deployments at distribution centers and other facilities. Represent the team in change and problem management processes and assist with documentation and administrative tasks to ensure smooth execution and operational alignment.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the design, deployment, and support of enterprise LAN, WAN, and WLAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless solutions.
  • Partner with senior engineers, IT teams, and business stakeholders to deliver high-performing, cost-effective, and operationally sustainable network solutions that meet evolving business needs.
  • Monitor and maintain the performance and reliability of enterprise network and voice systems, working proactively to minimize downtime and ensure optimal operation.
  • Identify and support opportunities to improve network functionality, performance, and resiliency through tuning, upgrades, and configuration adjustments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including security, application, and infrastructure groups—to deliver reliable connectivity for enterprise platforms such as SAP, Manhattan, JDA, and HANA.
  • Represent the network team in vendor engagements and cross-team discussions to understand requirements, document expectations, and align on delivery plans.
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of network documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
  • Support automation and tooling initiatives to improve deployment consistency, reduce manual effort, and streamline operational workflows.

THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with routing, switching, firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, WLAN, and core network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Familiarity with Cisco network hardware, operating systems (IOS/NX-OS), and management tools
  • Knowledge of Aruba, Palo Alto, F5 technologies a plus. Exposure to Cato Networks a bonus.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, STP, and HSRP.
  • Professional certifications like CCNA; CCNP or CCDA preferred.
  • Scripting or automation experience with Python, Ansible, Puppet, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex, multi-vendor enterprise networks using monitoring and performance tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects on time and document processes clearly.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and supporting off-hours/on-call rotations.
  • Willingness to travel up to 35%, as needed, for on-site support.

The pay range for this position is $88,200.00 - $100,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
